Jollas House, Helsinki FI, 2010
The House in Jollas, Helsinki FI is a compact private house for a family of four in the middle of rocky and rolling coastal woods. The compact but spatious house sits on a small and complicated site not far from the center of Helsinki. The split-level solution makes use of the topography, makes the most out of the tight zoning regulations, brings spatial play in to the internal organisations and provides distance between the parents and the kids. The central living area – where the family meets – opens up towards the “nature side“ of the house.
