House Metsälampi, Lohja FI, 2019

Metsälampi house will serve as a second home for a retired couple living in the city. They want a modern house, where they can enjoy nature and receive guests. The guiding principles of the conception are a) the integration of the exterior and interior spaces and b) offering a sense of privacy to the residents and their guests. After a series of conceptual studies, the client chose the ‘atrium house’, in which the interior and built outdoor spaces form a continuous ‘donut’, with varying levels of shelter against the weather.
