The Helsinki Art Museum is located in the old ‘Tennis Palace’ building at the centre of Helsinki. The goal of this refurbishment project was to increase the attractivity of the museum, its number of visitors and the revenues of the museum shop. We made the entrance area of the museum more accessible by extending it, by opening views, and broadening its visibility. The design is based on the effects of light, space and architecture. Lit surfaces accentuate the ceiling and the entry while mobile sales furniture allows for different configurations.
