Döbele Square, Konstanz DE

In closest proximity to the Swiss border the Döbele Square forms one of the anchor points of Konstanz city centre. In contrast to the former function as a parking lot, we suggest a precisely adjusted solution within the given traffic situation. Three simple building volumes manage to form a whole new place. A housing tower, a round shaped block with a semi-public courtyard with integratet super market and market hall and a small pavillion, that serves as connector to the city centre. Noise is buffered by the building masses so that a local square can evolve. Despite the destinctive style the concept connects seamlessly to the neighbourhoods.
